Did the PS Vita REALLY Disappoint Japanese Sales This Weekend?

The exact number, as Famitsu is reporting, is 321,407 units sold. And that "first week" actually only encompassed two days, December 17th and 18th. By contrast, when the original PSP launched seven years ago, Sony picked up 166,000 new users in the first day. Meaning Sony can pat themselves on the back for getting the Vita out there and Japanese gamers interested at launch.

Unfortunately the new gaming handheld from Sony fell just shy of the Nintendo 3DS's opening sales record which saw 371,000 units sold.

I really think its a big accomplishment. Many people are waiting to see is the Vita really worth it. I mean with all the smart phones and android tablets I honestly don't see how many people would actually need it. Sony really needs to offer more than just the "hardcore gaming" tag. A lot of people don't game heavy on the go. They have PS3's at home for that. I hope they change something by the US launch.

Batista BURIES John Cena

Batista who left WWE, back in 2010 because has was vocally against WWE's direction into the "PG Era" had some very choice words for his former co-worker:

“I think, you know, they did the whole PG direction thing, I think that works for Cena; the little kids love him, cause he’s a great character, he’s someone they can look up to. The girls love him, good looking guy, says all the right things, does all the right things, but the hardcore fans can’t stand him. He is Mr. Hokey, Mr. PG… to me; he killed hardcore, edgy wrestling,” Batista said.

Batista speaks for everyone. Maybe with this statement WWE will kill the PG thing. You would think with the continued ratings drop, PPV buyrates, and overall attendance they would have changed something by now. But that's WWE for you, dropping the ball since 2009.

Original TV Programming Coming to the 360? Microsoft Hires Executive

With the move Microsoft is drastically making to insure that their flagship console is a household and a must have name, it seems it would only make sense to expand it even more, then it already has. How can they do it, you say? Original TV Programming.

That's right, According to a new report from Bloomberg, Microsoft has set out to hire a big-time executive from the world of television to help the company fill out its entertainment offerings with original (and exclusive) Xbox 360 content.

This move will most likely give Microsoft a much needed advantage over the set-top solutions by their rivals; most notably Apple and Google. Neither of which create content to package alongside their respective devices' streamed content. EPIX, ESPN, Hulu Plus, Today, and Netflix are some of the streaming stations that either rolled out or continued along with the Xbox 360 (U.S.) as part of its most recent software update. Further December options to-be-released include Sony Pictures' Crackle station, iHeartRadio, MSNBC.com, TMZ, and UFC on Xbox Live, to name a few.

There are also new channels coming to Xbox Live to kick off 2012 and they are; CinemaNow, HBO GO, and Comcast's Xfinity on Demand.

Brand New Netflix App for the Xbox 360's Kinect - Details Inside

Netflix revealed Wednesday, that they had just released a brand new version of its movie-streaming app for the Xbox 360, using Kinect voice and motion gestures as an optional interface.

Along with this application comes new partnerships like ESPN, MSNBC, and Vudu, and many others. Netflix also said that it has added 720p-quality HD (bandwidth allowing) and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. Adaptive streaming will optimize the picture for the available bandwidth, the company said.

On the surface, the Netflix app offers what the company called a "better browse experience," with three times more titles showcased on the screen. (A screenshot provided by Netflix showed eight across.) Netflix also promised a "richer play experience that includes access to audio and subtitle settings, ratings capability, episode selection, and related title suggestions while you play for a more integrated experience".

The voice and gestures have been heavily integrated into Netflix, allowing users to search via voice, rather than clumsily inputting a movie selection using the on-screen keyboard.

Netflix on Xbox 360 is now available in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia as Xbox Gold Live is now available in these territories, Netflix said. Portuguese language commands are not supported. Xbox Gold Live, a Netflix unlimited streaming membership and a high-speed internet connection are required to stream Netflix.

Heel Turn Edited off Smackdown?

 - It sounds like WWE may have changed their mind on turning Kaitlyn heel.

This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, has already aired in Australia, a tag team match with Kaitlyn and AJ Lee vs. Natalya and Divas Champion Beth Phoenix was edited off the broadcast.

The match was taped at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings and saw Kaitlyn turn on AJ, joining the victorious team of Phoenix and Natalya. I was actually ready to see Kaitlyn turn heel, the buildup was really good, considering Divas don't get much TV time. She would have made an excellent addition to the Divas of Doom, the team needs a little more something added to it, because its in danger of becoming stale. Kaitlyn would have brought it. Smart move WWE... Smart Move.

LEAKED: Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Cover

Guy's we have the leaked exclusive Playboy cover of former "Disney" girl Lindsay Lohan. That is set to make its public debut December 15 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The cover photo reminds me of the late Anna Nicole Smith. Its really sad when a hopeful and talented actress turns to this. Well I guest when you're a rehab failure, then you have no other choice. None the less the cover doesn't look completely bad, I only assume a lot air brushing was done.

The Chief Creative Officer of Playboy, Hugh Hefner says he hopes that, like it was for actresses Drew Barrymore and Shannen Doherty, appearing in Playboy will be a turning point in Lohan rebuilding her career. Yeah like posing nude will EVER be a rebuild your career.

But enough of my rambling, here's the cover. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

WWE: Why it doesn't matter Whether WWE Returns to TV 14

For those of you that have been using various wrestling sites, or reading wrestling blogs for the past two years, you have heard one major complaint from the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) and that is; "WWE needs to go back to TV 14", "WWE is a kid show, or "The Attitude Era needs to come back."

Really? Really? Some times I wonder do people ACTUALLY see a difference in WWE's current programming today than what it was in 2007. The fact is that there is not a massive difference. I also wonder if majority of the people that complain the "Attitude Era" needs to return, actually know what the Attitude Era was or even watched it. It was a great era no doubt about it, but people often times exaggerate it. Regardless of its bad rap, PG's not the problem, its the way the WWE commits to the rating. Don't believe me lets do a quick overview:

- The same type of matches.
WWE is a company known for its ability to produce a good match here and there. Who could ever forget John Cena vs. CM Punk for Money in The Bank this year? The match was an instant classic. It had it all emotion, controversy, and what WWE has always wanted. National attention. Can you tell me where that match took place? In the prime of the "PG" Era. That's not the only great match that has taken place this year. Christian and Randy Orton had a series of great matches this year. Same goes for Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston, and others.

- Mostly the same type of Promo's.
This is another thing the IWC complains about. The lack of "curse" words or "edginess"  in today's WWE promo. The fact still remains, you don't need ten thousand curse words in a promo to make it great. CM Punk and John Cena are key examples of this. These two had the wrestling world in the palm of their hands this summer with their in-ring segments Millions tuned in (and still do) to hear what these guys had to say next.  R-Truth and The Miz were able to do this with there promos bashing Rock and Cena. These two told a great story, and that's all you need. You don't have to say; ass, damn, or bitch every two sentences to make it stand out.

- The PG Era isn't totally bad, but it does have its problems.
One thing that stands out most in my opinion is the bans WWE has placed during this Era. I'm not gonna lie, I too miss the blood, chairshots, TLC or NO DQ matches where its more of a hardcore match used more than one table, chair, ladder and other things that made a WWE match hardcore and creative, just like everyone else.  It seems over the course of  2 years WWE has REALLY utilized the term PG, like there's no tomorrow. Some things the WWE has done is down right ridiculous. Banning the term 'wrestling'? I mean come on, no matter what terminology you label your product its still boils down to wrestling, the guys you hire are wrestlers. You can't change that. It's was a bad business move in my opinion. People don't tune in to see sports entertainers, they want to see pro wrestlers. That would probably explain the recent ratings.

Minus the few kinks, the WWE PG Era is really as bad as people make it out to be. To me its just a new thing for the IWC to complain about. I really hope you enjoyed reading this, feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below.

UPDATE ON THE NEW WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

There have been rumors of WWE changing the WWE Title belt design, including WWE.com doing an article about the idea, at this time, there is no plan to change the title.

There is a fake YouTube video out there, claiming to show the design of the new title, but as we now know it is not real that.

There have also been rumors that they could go back to an older design, possibly the title design used before the spinner belt, but again, there is no official plans. So please disregard the article that we have up of the design it was a mistake on our part. We apologize.

PS3 to Target Toward Kids in 2012

 The PS3 has been in market for about 6 years now, according to Sony's 10 year life span for the console it has reached its stride. The Playstation Magazine has recently done an interview with Sony's Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) CEO Jim Ryan this is what he had to say;

“I think you’ll see us taking the console more towards a slightly younger demographic. More family market. The core gamer will absolutely not be neglected. There’s going to be tons of great stuff for the core gamer but from our own studio, third parties there’s some quite interesting stuff happening in a number of areas which would allow us to open up a market that we accessed pretty successfully on both PS1 and PS3 but haven’t yet got to on PS3,” Ryan said.

“If you look back at the history on PS1, PS2 the vast majority of the business that we did on both those platforms was done at the sub £129 price points. Now we’ve only got to £199 in the UK a couple of month back so you can see there’s still a lot of PS3’s potentially to be sold,” he continued.

Do you think that the PS3 should become a 'kiddie' console or should it stay the way it is? Do you think that the new Playstation Vita will take the spot for more 'adult-like' gaming? Tell us in the comments below.

"Look Within". More Hints toward Jericho?

Below is WWE's new "Look Within" cryptic promo. If saw RAW this week you saw that this promo appeared to have "hacked" its way onto a promo featuring Pin-Up Strong aka the Divas of Doom. Its almost similar to the way his return promo's were in 2007 where they use to interrupt various promos and other things. Here's the video and remember to comment and tell us who you think it's for.

BREAKING NEWS: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash in a Ladder Match - Confirmed for TLC

Just announced moments ago Triple H will indeed face Kevin Nash at the upcoming TLC PPV. But its not just any match. Its a ladder match, but not a normal ladder match. In this ladder match a sludge-hammer will be the prize to obtain.

The person that reaches the top of the ladder and gets the hammer will have 'legal clearance' to use it how they would want without being punished.

Sounds like a pretty good match on paper, but how will it play out live these two men are up in age, especially Nash. But it doesn't matter what we think, the only thing that matters is what you the WWE Universe thinks. So let us know down below in the comments.

WWE RAW Preview: What questions do you want answered tonight?

Will we finally get a definite answer to whether John Cena will turn heel?

Well just like every other wrestling fan over the age of 12, I have gotten horribly bored with John's superman character. We need something new, something fresh. And that's just it. Cena needs a heel turn bottom line. Will it make older fans happy? Maybe. Will it make ratings rise? Probably. Will it leave more room for up and coming stars to have a taste at the spotlight? Definitely.

Who will CM Punk defend his WWE Championship against at TLC?

After Alberto Del Rio's loss on RAW last week, I doubt he will be the one facing Punk at TLC. He'll probably be going to the mid-card anyway, you can read all about it here. The Miz is my pick to take the spot. The WWE in my opinion is doing a fantastic job making The Miz look like a legitimate heel. A CM Punk / Miz Feud is right up ally.

Who's next?

The Miz has been on a hellish rampage through RAW lately. Taking out the likes of R-Truth and John Morrison, but who's next. We'll find out tonight.

Who is the "It Begins" Promo Really for?

WWE has been airing a mysterious promo, for a return of a past superstar. Now rumor has it that its for Chris Jericho, but it seems the deal WWE had on the table for him has fallen through. That being said, if Jericho decides not to return to the company, the promo could easily be use for The Undertaker. You can read the full story here. None the less Jan. 2nd, 2012 is going to be a day the wrestling world never forgets.

Remember to comment. And Be sure to come back tonight and tomorrow for all your WWE, Tech, Video Game, and Comedy needs.

Frame-rate issues with the PS3 Version of Skyrim?

Eurogamer has published a damning analysis of the 'Rimlag' issue that is plaguing the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, proving that the latest patch does precious little to alleviate frame-rate issues that players with large save files are experiencing.

Disgruntled PS3 owners have come up with a few theories as to why players with a few dozen hours on the clock must endure stuttering that makes the game almost unplayable; one plausible explanation is that the game has poor 'garbage collection', and that the PS3's anaemic memory reserves rapidly fill up with digital cruft during the course of play.

Whatever the cause, the solution may well be beyond the scope of a simple patch.

You can read Eurogamer's astonishing report in full here – and do be sure to watch the side-by-side comparison video in which identical scenes in a new game and a 65-hour save are compared.

At some points the frame rate is effectively zero.

Triple H Update, WWE 12 problems

Triple H was yesterday advertised for to tomorrow's episode of WWE's RAW is no more. As we reported yesterday a match between him and Kevin Nash might have been pushed back to the 2012 Royal Rumble. The arena is currently advertising CM Punk defending his WWE title against John Cena and Alberto Del Rio and a 41 man cross-brand Battle Royal for the show.

THQ is reportedly having problems with their online servers. A report that was released yesterday says the company will have the problem fixed by January, though a rep for THQ said they're working on the problem now.

Dixie Carter Interview - WWE, TNA + More

(TNA) - Dixie Carter recently done an interview with The Tennessean has an interview here are some of the main points:

What has kept professional wrestling relevant: "Wrestling has been around for centuries. It encompasses action-drama, good guy/bad guy, and good and evil. When you combine all of that with some of the best wrestlers in the world, it's a recipe for success."

How TNA has changed with the times: "We're not just a wrestling company anymore. We do our own booking. We do our own promotion and public relations. We're a licensing company. We have toys, Halloween costumes, trading cards. We make our own music. All of those things are sold and promoted around the world. But we still do more than 500 hours of television a year."

Competing against WWE: "I don't care who you are, competition makes you better. There's a reason there's a Lowe's across the street from every Home Depot and a CVS across the street from every Walgreens. I think we've made WWE better, just as they've improved us.

Misconception about wrestling that she dislikes: "Besides that wrestling is fake, which is certainly isn't. Just the way the industry has treated sponsors, the media or just people in general. Wrestling had a bad reputation for a while. People thought it was trashy. But that's changing. I went to a legitimate sports network and the head of the company said, 'Are you kidding? We have the Lakers and everything else.' I popped in a tape and he said, 'OK, let's talk.'"

Ongoing challenges: "When a company first starts out, you have to do whatever you can to get into the business. Then, once you're established, you spend a lot of time getting out of all the bad contracts that got you into the business. Deals with companies, bad partnerships or licensing deals. We're still working through some of those now that we've found our footing."

If the recession has hurt them: "We went from double-digit growth for a couple years to single-digit growth. I call that a major victory. But the biggest challenge we had during the recession was so many of our partners were going out of business. Our TV partner in Africa went out of business. Our DVD partner in the United Kingdom went out of business. Our Australian DVD partner went out of business. Weeks after our video game publisher, Midway Games, put out our video game, they filed for bankruptcy. (The game still sold 1.5 million units.) After the recession, we just worked hard to plug all the holes fast."

-- The St. Pete Times Forum has advertising up for Triple H to appear on Monday's RAW Supershow. As usual this should be taken as a grain of salt, because as reported numerous times during the past week plans for the WWE change quite often.
