Did the PS Vita REALLY Disappoint Japanese Sales This Weekend?

The exact number, as Famitsu is reporting, is 321,407 units sold. And that "first week" actually only encompassed two days, December 17th and 18th. By contrast, when the original PSP launched seven years ago, Sony picked up 166,000 new users in the first day. Meaning Sony can pat themselves on the back for getting the Vita out there and Japanese gamers interested at launch.

Unfortunately the new gaming handheld from Sony fell just shy of the Nintendo 3DS's opening sales record which saw 371,000 units sold.

I really think its a big accomplishment. Many people are waiting to see is the Vita really worth it. I mean with all the smart phones and android tablets I honestly don't see how many people would actually need it. Sony really needs to offer more than just the "hardcore gaming" tag. A lot of people don't game heavy on the go. They have PS3's at home for that. I hope they change something by the US launch.

Batista BURIES John Cena

Batista who left WWE, back in 2010 because has was vocally against WWE's direction into the "PG Era" had some very choice words for his former co-worker:

“I think, you know, they did the whole PG direction thing, I think that works for Cena; the little kids love him, cause he’s a great character, he’s someone they can look up to. The girls love him, good looking guy, says all the right things, does all the right things, but the hardcore fans can’t stand him. He is Mr. Hokey, Mr. PG… to me; he killed hardcore, edgy wrestling,” Batista said.

Batista speaks for everyone. Maybe with this statement WWE will kill the PG thing. You would think with the continued ratings drop, PPV buyrates, and overall attendance they would have changed something by now. But that's WWE for you, dropping the ball since 2009.

Original TV Programming Coming to the 360? Microsoft Hires Executive

With the move Microsoft is drastically making to insure that their flagship console is a household and a must have name, it seems it would only make sense to expand it even more, then it already has. How can they do it, you say? Original TV Programming.

That's right, According to a new report from Bloomberg, Microsoft has set out to hire a big-time executive from the world of television to help the company fill out its entertainment offerings with original (and exclusive) Xbox 360 content.

This move will most likely give Microsoft a much needed advantage over the set-top solutions by their rivals; most notably Apple and Google. Neither of which create content to package alongside their respective devices' streamed content. EPIX, ESPN, Hulu Plus, Today, and Netflix are some of the streaming stations that either rolled out or continued along with the Xbox 360 (U.S.) as part of its most recent software update. Further December options to-be-released include Sony Pictures' Crackle station, iHeartRadio, MSNBC.com, TMZ, and UFC on Xbox Live, to name a few.

There are also new channels coming to Xbox Live to kick off 2012 and they are; CinemaNow, HBO GO, and Comcast's Xfinity on Demand.

Brand New Netflix App for the Xbox 360's Kinect - Details Inside

Netflix revealed Wednesday, that they had just released a brand new version of its movie-streaming app for the Xbox 360, using Kinect voice and motion gestures as an optional interface.

Along with this application comes new partnerships like ESPN, MSNBC, and Vudu, and many others. Netflix also said that it has added 720p-quality HD (bandwidth allowing) and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. Adaptive streaming will optimize the picture for the available bandwidth, the company said.

On the surface, the Netflix app offers what the company called a "better browse experience," with three times more titles showcased on the screen. (A screenshot provided by Netflix showed eight across.) Netflix also promised a "richer play experience that includes access to audio and subtitle settings, ratings capability, episode selection, and related title suggestions while you play for a more integrated experience".

The voice and gestures have been heavily integrated into Netflix, allowing users to search via voice, rather than clumsily inputting a movie selection using the on-screen keyboard.

Netflix on Xbox 360 is now available in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia as Xbox Gold Live is now available in these territories, Netflix said. Portuguese language commands are not supported. Xbox Gold Live, a Netflix unlimited streaming membership and a high-speed internet connection are required to stream Netflix.

Heel Turn Edited off Smackdown?

 - It sounds like WWE may have changed their mind on turning Kaitlyn heel.

This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, has already aired in Australia, a tag team match with Kaitlyn and AJ Lee vs. Natalya and Divas Champion Beth Phoenix was edited off the broadcast.

The match was taped at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings and saw Kaitlyn turn on AJ, joining the victorious team of Phoenix and Natalya. I was actually ready to see Kaitlyn turn heel, the buildup was really good, considering Divas don't get much TV time. She would have made an excellent addition to the Divas of Doom, the team needs a little more something added to it, because its in danger of becoming stale. Kaitlyn would have brought it. Smart move WWE... Smart Move.

LEAKED: Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Cover

Guy's we have the leaked exclusive Playboy cover of former "Disney" girl Lindsay Lohan. That is set to make its public debut December 15 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The cover photo reminds me of the late Anna Nicole Smith. Its really sad when a hopeful and talented actress turns to this. Well I guest when you're a rehab failure, then you have no other choice. None the less the cover doesn't look completely bad, I only assume a lot air brushing was done.

The Chief Creative Officer of Playboy, Hugh Hefner says he hopes that, like it was for actresses Drew Barrymore and Shannen Doherty, appearing in Playboy will be a turning point in Lohan rebuilding her career. Yeah like posing nude will EVER be a rebuild your career.

But enough of my rambling, here's the cover. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

WWE: Why it doesn't matter Whether WWE Returns to TV 14

For those of you that have been using various wrestling sites, or reading wrestling blogs for the past two years, you have heard one major complaint from the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) and that is; "WWE needs to go back to TV 14", "WWE is a kid show, or "The Attitude Era needs to come back."

Really? Really? Some times I wonder do people ACTUALLY see a difference in WWE's current programming today than what it was in 2007. The fact is that there is not a massive difference. I also wonder if majority of the people that complain the "Attitude Era" needs to return, actually know what the Attitude Era was or even watched it. It was a great era no doubt about it, but people often times exaggerate it. Regardless of its bad rap, PG's not the problem, its the way the WWE commits to the rating. Don't believe me lets do a quick overview:

- The same type of matches.
WWE is a company known for its ability to produce a good match here and there. Who could ever forget John Cena vs. CM Punk for Money in The Bank this year? The match was an instant classic. It had it all emotion, controversy, and what WWE has always wanted. National attention. Can you tell me where that match took place? In the prime of the "PG" Era. That's not the only great match that has taken place this year. Christian and Randy Orton had a series of great matches this year. Same goes for Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston, and others.

- Mostly the same type of Promo's.
This is another thing the IWC complains about. The lack of "curse" words or "edginess"  in today's WWE promo. The fact still remains, you don't need ten thousand curse words in a promo to make it great. CM Punk and John Cena are key examples of this. These two had the wrestling world in the palm of their hands this summer with their in-ring segments Millions tuned in (and still do) to hear what these guys had to say next.  R-Truth and The Miz were able to do this with there promos bashing Rock and Cena. These two told a great story, and that's all you need. You don't have to say; ass, damn, or bitch every two sentences to make it stand out.

- The PG Era isn't totally bad, but it does have its problems.
One thing that stands out most in my opinion is the bans WWE has placed during this Era. I'm not gonna lie, I too miss the blood, chairshots, TLC or NO DQ matches where its more of a hardcore match used more than one table, chair, ladder and other things that made a WWE match hardcore and creative, just like everyone else.  It seems over the course of  2 years WWE has REALLY utilized the term PG, like there's no tomorrow. Some things the WWE has done is down right ridiculous. Banning the term 'wrestling'? I mean come on, no matter what terminology you label your product its still boils down to wrestling, the guys you hire are wrestlers. You can't change that. It's was a bad business move in my opinion. People don't tune in to see sports entertainers, they want to see pro wrestlers. That would probably explain the recent ratings.

Minus the few kinks, the WWE PG Era is really as bad as people make it out to be. To me its just a new thing for the IWC to complain about. I really hope you enjoyed reading this, feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below.
